Portfolio

Some of our latest and most favorite projects are displayed here. While it's true this is not all of our work, this portfolio contains nearly all of our most recent projects.

Some new clients have asked, "Will my web site look as good as the sites in your portfolio? You aren't charging me that much in your proposal." Our reputation depends on the impression people have of our work. Naturally, some projects are more difficult to design, and sometimes client requirements prevent us from designing creatively—every designer faces that. But we look at every design project as a potential portfolio piece. Our intention is to make you look professional, impressive and competitive in your industry.

Picture: Maxine's Floral and Gift
Maxine's waited three years between changing photos on her site, only because she couldn't work out services with her webmaster. By that time all her product line had changed. Now she has complete control of all her products and content and show as many different pictures as she likes.
• Logo and site design by Tom Ogden Design
• Flexible templated pages to allow for changing content and photos
• Product directory with customized layout
• Opt-in subscriber mailing list for favorite customers

Web Rings
Any group of businesses that want to benefit from close association and reciprocal links on the web belong in a webring. This is a group we belong to based in Seattle.
• Each member gets a framed presence for their web site in the ring.
• Each member also can have a writeup and page to themselves, which benefits members without sites.
• Site administration can be handled by you or a member in the group.
Picture: Kingston Cove Yacht Club
The yacht club had a site that looked good but was constantly out of date. I revised the design to allow member services that the officers and members can update themselves. For the first time the Club feels like it has control of it's web space.
• Private member directory with photos and confidential e-mailing links, controlled by a password known only to members.
• Photo galleries that the officers can create themselves, directly from their digital cameras. Photos are re-sized for display and thumbnails.
• Downloadable forms for member applications and lease agreements, available to the public.
• Private calendar of events.
• SPAM-proof contact form that thwarts even SPAM-bots.
Picture: FinditKitsap.com
NO, I did not design this. My part in this project was the engine underneath. This directory covers 10,000 businesses on the Kitsap Peninsula. It's got automation and features that compete favorably with the major phone directories—besides which, it's local.
• More accurate search algorithms, which allow cross-referencing between fields and help users to insert wildcard characters or to browse possible categories for searching
• Multi-level member directory, with automated application and verification system tools
• Member control panel that allows members to create new and multiple categories for multiple listings, create on-line coupons, and compose an entire page of content, including graphics.
• Custom statistical tracking application for members.
Picture: Kingston Chamber
Barbara Kitchens is a political advocate and consultant serving Real Estate associations all over the state of Washington. Her organization has been a major source of information, training and promotion for many organizations.
• Editing tool for multiple columns of articles, which include citation linking to associated businesses.
• Extinsive member directory which allows account tracking and multiple listing categories per business.
• E-mail broadcasting, user log-in control for the entire board.
• Layout design and many more features in the works...
Picture: CGS Publishing Technologies International GmbH
CGS Pubishing Technologies International GmbH, is based in Hainburg, Germany. They are a software company that specializes in graphical tools for the printing industry.
• Generates non-graphical, printer-friendly versions of content automatically
• Recognizes language preferences from the user's computer
• Enables visiters to specify which language they prefer
• Configured to facilitate HTML editing by the client
• Designed to match existing logo and collateral
Picture: The Phoenix Bed & Breakfast
Pro Bono
The Dores are a family here in Kingston whom we have decided to help. Roseanne Dore is a widow who is very involved with the Girl Scouts. Having lost their home to a fire, the Dores were selected for ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The whole community got involved. We are glad to have a part in supporting web space for their new Bed and Breakfast.
• Classic do-it-yourself web services allows you to control your own content.
• Enhanced logo, originally designed by Ty Pennington
• Classic, simple design, utilizing existing photos
• Contact form enables customers to contact, without exposing e-mail address
Picture: Paul Marano, Ph.D.
Paul J. Marano, Ph.D., offers services that benefit companies, individuals and students. A long time psychologist, he is also an affiliate of The Highlands Company. With the aid of The Highlands Ability Battery, Dr. Marano can help you find fulfillment in your career.
We designed this business image from top to bottom, beginning with the logo. While capturing search engine hits is NOT a guaranteed service, this site is designed to get the most out of the web for it's level of content. Together with our site and content editing tools and a broadcast newsletter service, this site is built to be a great performer.
Picture: Community Event Productions
NON-PROFIT: Community Event Productions
The North Kitsap Herald has no shortage of praise for this organization, run by executive Mary Graves. CEP not only organizes large community-based events, but they also raise funds that they award as grants to support local youth programs.
Utilitarian, yet aesthetically pleasing, this site is equiped with a picture scrapbook and events management that allows CEP to compose any number of calendared community events, with multiple associated photos, auxilliary maps and automated links to MapQuest. New events are also automatically listed in the Home page, along with a selected photo.
Picture: ZAND Herbal Formulas
High-end herbal formulas, manufactured in FDA-approved facilities. One of the biggest names in herbal formulas, ZAND products cover a myriad of health needs and are formulated so that you don't need to hire an herbal guru to know what to take.
A huge product directory, a national store locator and editable content are just some of the goodies in this package. In partnership with Mark Lee, we have created a new look and feel for a previously disfunctional site. Tom Ogden's metalic treatment of the logo has since been incorporated into some of the product branding.
Picture: Author Shelly Choong
A creative, yet thoughtful intellect have made Shelly Johnson-Choong a well loved author of both fiction and inspirational text.
This site has been newly redesigned on a greater scale, including data-driven monthly columns, column archives and a growing collection of movie reviews.
Picture: Herbs for Kids
The biggest name in natural health formulas just for kids. Dosages and formulations are meant for kids, not one-size-fits all. Solutions are easily measured for the appropriate dosage for each age. Best of all, these products taste great.
A nation-wide store locator, downloadable coupons, coloring pictures for kids and a large product directory make this site a force not to be ignored.
Picture: Washington Basket Company
The Washington Basket Company
A simple, but engaging site, WBC specializes in baskets, but also sells corporate gift items and apparel. All products are of the highest quality, with a touch of personal care that you'll never find at other Basket retailers.
This site incorpates a simple e-commerce engine and product directory. It also frames unbranded product sites for sale by WBC in a way that preserves the site's look and feel.
Picture: Joint Movement Glucosamine
Joint Movement Glucosamine
A featured product of the Symtec brand, this product is a big seller nationwide. The 33-oz. bottle is sold exclusively at Costco Warehouse stores.
Flash animation, physicaly vibrant photos and a provacative layout ensure this site will impress. Remember, the first reason for web space is "credibility."
Picture: Wi-Fi Hotspots
